This musical suite is an attempt to translate Breton artist Bernard Louedin’s visual creations into sound. Although I’ve chosen one painting per piece of music, it is more an overall sense of his dream-like pictorial universe that I try to express in notes.

Bernard has a Celtic soul and a close relationship with his unconscious mind, and I have long admired his work—in addition, he has been a long-time friend of the family. You can get a sense of how prolific a creator he has been by Googling “Bernard Louedin artiste peintre.” Some of his work is available in the US, sold online by Park West Gallery.
